Cartwheel Twopence

The cartwheel twopence was Britain's largest and heaviest coin. It was made of copper and weighed a full two ounces. Manufactured or minted at the Soho Mint in Birmingham using state of the art coining machinery driven by steam power. Coins produced by such equipment helped the Industrial Revolution to progress.
