William III Sixpence
After the death of his wife Mary in 1694, William continued as sole ruler of the United Kingdom until 1702. We selected this silver sixpence to represent this date in history purely because we liked its superb condition.
In Sweden, King Karl XI died, and was succeeded by Karl XII, but unfortunately we do not have a photograph of a suitable Swedish coin of this date, as and when we acquire one, we will probably give it pride of place on this page.
